These AI emojis, called genmojis, are the cutest thing to hit the internet since puppy gifs! The Harpoon staff and I compiled this list of prompts to generate the absolute most adorable genmojis to send to your special someone, friends, or family members this Valentine’s Day.

1. For a wholesome heart, type: “make a heart out of spaghetti” but replace “spaghetti” with your partner’s favorite food. This is one of my favorite ways to show that I care about my girlfriend.

2. For a more flirty genmoji, type: “a peach with a hole in it.” This one is for all my Call Me By Your Name (Guadagnino, 2017) girlies. If you’ve seen that movie you know what this one means 😉

3. If you have a more detached way of showing your love to someone, you could try to stop communicating with words and only communicate using genmojis. That’s what my mother decided to do to me almost a month ago. At first, it didn’t really affect me. I thought it was weird, but I thought it was a short obsession that would last a couple of days at most. After about a week of constant genmojis, I have to admit it began to hurt a little bit. She knows that my passion for environmental activism is part of the reason why I went so far from home for college. Each time she sends me a genmoji of a polar bear playing hockey or a heart made of cake, I can imagine the energy demanded by Apple’s AI data centers increasing. I imagine the coal being burned to supply that energy. I imagine the carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions contributing to the greenhouse effect and degrading our already fragile ecosystems. It’s not just about the environment, though. I don’t feel seen or loved when I talk to her anymore. When I try to Facetime her, she declines immediately and then sends me a genmoji of a wine glass. When my birthday passed, I didn’t hear from her for three days. Then, early in the morning, she sent me a genmoji of a goldfish in a tank full of wine. I don’t understand why you’re doing this, Mom. I want to talk to you again. I want to laugh with you again.

4. For a more funny genmoji to send to your friends, type: “dog working an office job.” This one is bound to get a few laughs because the concept is just so zany. Dogs don’t work office jobs! Dogs don’t wear suits! They certainly don’t go to meetings and write quarterly reports! LOL!

5. For a sincere and heartfelt expression of love, type: “Stephen Hawking getting out of his wheelchair to propose.” What shows love more than overcoming impossible odds? Stephen Hawking would only get down on one knee if he really loved somebody. This genmoji shows just how much you would do for somebody. Rest in Peace, Stephen ❤
